Strategic screening

VEP offers its Strategic Screening service to a select number of private equity clients, who find it highly cost effective and of immense value.

 

Strategic Screening is appropriate at that delicate stage where the financiers think a deal looks promising, but they have niggling concerns over how well placed the company is in how attractive markets.  They are wary of kicking off heavy spending on accountants, lawyers, consultants etc., but feel they would benefit from the extra layer of comfort to be gained from an independent and authoritative view. 
 
Vaughan Evans & Partners is exceptionally well placed to help.  Experience and judgement, as opposed to specific industry knowledge, are the keys to strategic screening.  And Vaughan Evans has been advising on buy-outs since they first arrived in the UK in the mid-1980s.  
 
A Strategic Screening assignment can be carried out, depending on the degree of reliance needed on its findings, in:

  • 2-3 days, typically attendance at a management presentation, initial analysis and an assessment of business risks and opportunities, or
  • 4-7 days, typically the above, plus further analysis of third party reports, selected interviews with industry experts and/or customers and more detailed feedback
